1. What we mean by “cookie”
For brevity, “cookie” in this notice covers traditional HTTP cookies as well as local storage and session storage values your browser may keep on our behalf. The mechanism varies, but the effect on your privacy is the same.
2. The cookies we actually set
Essential — cannot be switched off
- PHPSESSID — session identifier used to maintain form state and to keep your CSRF token alive between page loads. HTTP cookie. Lifetime: until the browser is closed.
- criptora_cc_v1 — records your cookie-consent decision so we do not show the banner again on the next visit. localStorage value. Lifetime: 12 months.
Functional — set only after consent
- (None at the moment.) If we add functional cookies in future — for example to remember a preferred language — they will be enabled only after you click Accept all on the consent banner.
Analytics & advertising
- We do not currently run any analytics or advertising trackers on this site. If that changes, we will list the cookies here and refresh the consent banner before the trackers fire.
3. Why essential cookies are essential
Without the session cookie, our forms cannot store a CSRF token and therefore cannot submit safely. Without the consent-state value, the banner would re-appear on every visit, which is annoying and (in our view) a worse privacy outcome than briefly storing a one-character record of your choice.
4. How to change your mind
The small gear icon in the lower-left corner of every page re-opens the consent dialog. You can also clear the criptora_cc_v1 value through your browser's site data tools.
5. Third-party cookies
We embed Google Fonts (woff2 files) for typography. Fonts are loaded with no cookies and no JavaScript; Google may still log the request IP. If you would rather avoid that, your browser's font fallbacks will produce a perfectly usable layout.
6. Browser controls
Every modern browser lets you block cookies entirely, block third-party cookies only, or delete stored cookies on request. The downside is that essential session cookies will also be blocked, and our forms will stop working. Instructions for the major browsers are linked from All About Cookies.
7. Updates to this policy
We will update this notice if the list of cookies changes and bump the date at the top. The version of the consent value (criptora_cc_v1) is also incremented when we materially change the categories, so the banner will re-appear.
